1967 Shelby Mustang GT-500

1967 Shelby Mustang GT-500

A Little History:

Big excitement was generated by the Shelby Mustang. While previous Shelby's had used mostly all the same Mustang body parts, this year the car looked totally different from the factory 'Stang. A fiberglass nose extension was bolted on the car making it longer. You might recognize this car from Gone In 60 Seconds, it is the best Mustang ever created in my opinion. The value of this car is very high and you don't see many of them.
The new GT500 was powered by a reworked 428 V8 (some were reportedly built with the even more powerful, race ready 427 V8). With a 428 ci engine and 355 bhp to put out with that, this car could fly. This car ran 0-60 in 6.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile 14.6. The 1967 Shelby's were more civilized and sported numerous luxury options, which seemed to appeal to buyers. These would be the last Shelby Mustangs actually built by Shelby-American. All future models would be built by Ford with little Shelby involvement.
Only 2,048 of these beautiful pieces of work were sold.

My Thoughts:

The '67 Shebly Mustang GT-500 is my favorite Mustang of all-time. This is a beautiful piece of work and should be considered within the Worlds Top 10 most beautiful man made structures.
This is truly a great car and would do almost anything for a chance to own one. Or maybe to even see one, you dont see these very often and if you every get the chance to I will envy you forever and want to know your exact thoughts about it. This car is so awesome, I love this car. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to see one because it would be a great honor. I think I'd splurge in my pants if I ever saw one.
One day though, I will definetely see one. I can bet my life on that, and that day, oh that day will be the one of the greatest days of my life!
