1969 Chevy Nova SS 396

About the Car:

This car was Chevrolet's answer to the budget-consious high performance Roadrunner in '69. The Nova SS came with a standard 350 cu. in 300 bhp engine. The body changes this year were minimum and included four fake louvers on front quarter. A 396 cu. in. with 350 or 375 bhp was available but wasn't promoted in sales literature. There were 17,600 Nova's sold in '69, including 5,200 with the 396/350 bhp engine and also 1,900 were sold with the 396/375 bhp version.
With the 396 ci engine and 375 bhp, the Nova was a screamer, it ran 0-60 in 5.9 and the 1/4 mile in 14.5. So this car could definetely kick some ass.

My Thoughts:

This car truly is a great car as with every Muscle Car. This Chevy Nova is one of the great Novas and probably one of the fastest Novas depending on what engine version you would have. Sure Nova's aren't really recognized as big bad muscle cars, but lemme tell ya, this car has some ass to it. I just saw one the other day and damn, it rumbled. It had the slicks on the back of it and damn, it was nice. I wouldn't mind owning one myself. I've actually seen a lot of these Novas around, but most are old rust buckets and are disgraceful to the Muscle Car Genre. People need to learn how to take care of cars and this is one car that definetely deserves to be taken car of. This car rumbles and can haul some ass, if you ever see one in good condition, you'll know what I'm talking about.
