1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
A Little History:
The 1968 received minor changes for its second year. The grill took on a more horizontal look while the vent windows were dropped and "Astro Ventilation" (i.e. flow-through ventilation) was added. Underneath, the 1967 Camaros pesky axle tramp was cured by the addition of multi-leaf rear springs to replace the single-leaf units and rear shock absorbers were now staggered. Z-28s were again not promoted in sales literature, but now could be identified with Z-28 or 302 emblems visible so they could easily be spotted out. Reports were Z-28s could turn mid 13 quarters at 107 mph.
Although still labeled with the 302 emblem, the '68 Camaro had a 350 ci engine that put out 295 bhp. It's 0-60 time is around 7 seconds and its 1/4 mile is in the high 15s. So this car isn't really a quick car, but It's a Camaro and I had to put it on here.
My Thoughts:
This is a pretty sweet car, and I see them all the time. They aren't that rare and you could probably find a few just in Fort Wayne. I wouldn't mind owning one of these cars one day, and will actually end up with one. This car is the my first priority if I can't get this other car I want one day. The other car I want though is very rare and chances are I won't find one.
Chances are you've seen one of these cars around town, it's pretty sweet and it has a nice rumble to it, kinda like a truck engine. It's definetely a classic and you should consider yourself honored to see such a great car.
